Typical Summer Outfit

I can't get enough of my high-waisted shorts. I don't care who makes fun of me for wearing them. This is one of my go-to outfits this summer.

Onesie: Forever 21
Shorts: No Excuses, thrifted

Belt: Thrifted

Shoes: Rialto Comfort

Hair Clip: Claire's

I am still in love with this onesie. It's perfect...except for when you have to use the bathroom. I really do wear these shoes pretty much every day now too.

I went thrifting today, but found nothing. I did contemplate buying tiny dinosaur-printed pillows, but decided against them because I would have no real place to put them to use. Part of me regrets not buying them--the dinosaur-loving part of me. I get a little too excited over dinosaurs. I blame this on being raised with the awesomeness of Jurassic Park as a child. So good!

There was a really cool lightning storm the other night and I managed to get a picture of it, although it's a pretty crappy one. I was going to go outside, but I didn't want to freak my parents out by creeping out at 2 in the morning. So this is the best I got from my bedroom window:

Storm-watching is always neat. I love lightning. I really want to get better pictures of it. It's just so fascinating! I went through a phase a couple of years ago where I'd watch The Weather Channel every morning while getting ready and put it on while I went to sleep at night. There was also a time in 7th grade when I thought about going into meteorology...then I grew up and realized how much math and advanced science you'd have to know to be a meteorologist. It's still incredibly interesting though!

Holy Peep Toe, Batman!

Believe it or not, I actually have a back-up of outfit photos! I have just been putting off posting them. I know that's not a good reason to have gone so long without posting...but it's the truth. I've been enjoying the last couple of weeks since my previous post by hanging out with friends, reading Harry Potter, playing Super Mario 64, and doing a little bit of shopping. I've also been trying to eat a little bit more healthily and exercise more. I try to take my dog for walks as much as possible, but the humidity and random thunderstorms sometimes thwart my attempts. :\ On a lighter note, I am happy that I just got to use the word 'thwart'.

I have also been stressing over a lot of big decisions I have to make, which has stifled my creativity and motivation a bit. I'm graduating this coming spring, and I have to decide on grad school, living situations and how to find a good job in my field. College went by so fast and I know that this year is going to fly by too, so I'm agonizing over all of these choices and decisions! I've sorted a bit of it out though, so I have been able to relax a tiny bit.

I've realized that I should really start saving my money, so I might try to limit any shopping I do to just thrift stores. I'm going to try and avoid the mall, as hard as it may be. This probably will not last... There is so much I want and need to save for though. School, living expenses, rent if I get an apartment...plus I want to travel next summer before I become a grown up and join the "real world". So many plans that need to be fleshed out, finalized and funded!

I chose this shirt at the last minute yesterday and I'm glad I did. I really like how it looked with these shorts and am happy with how this outfit turned out. I find that I rarely wear yellow. I don't have that much yellow clothing which is a shame because it's a great color. This shirt is a little baggy, so I'm glad I found a good use for it! It works well cinched at the waist. I love the cute little pocket on the front!

Shirt: Mudd
Shorts: Forever 21
Shoes: Rialto Comfort

I got these shorts in Forever 21 while shopping with my mom last weekend. I love the floral print! I am always drawn to floral prints. I can't resist them! They're comfy too, but they're a little too short when worn at the waist. This is not remedied by the fact that they're so flouncy and loose like a skirt rather than fitted like an actual pair of shorts. They kept getting blown up by the breeze while I walked Chris's dog by the beach yesterday! They're not so bad otherwise, though. I got used to them. They're definitely great for summer.

I'm not sure if I've ever talked about my aversion to peep toe shoes here, but it does exist. I never buy peep toe shoes because I hate my toes and don't want people peeping them. But...I saw this pair in Kohl's and for some reason I knew I had to have them. I love the cut-out design, the color, the fact that they don't have a back so I won't get blisters, the wedge heel, the mary jane-esque strap AND...they're actually made for comfort. They had so many redeeming qualities that I just had to let the whole peep toe thing go for them. Besides, the peep toe is so small that you can barely see my toes. It's mostly just the tip of my big one. I can't stop wearing them! They go with pretty much everything! Maybe I will start to consider more peep toe shoes form now on. :)

Red Shoes and Candy Cigarettes

As I mentioned in my previous post, Nadia and I went shopping a couple of weeks ago. I was really excited when I spotted these red shoes in my size in Savers. I've been wanting a pair of red shoes and it was such a plus that the heels aren't that high. They're sooo comfy! I prefer shorter heels because really high heels get to be uncomfortable. Shorter heels just appeal to me more, for some reason. They look more natural and cute. Not to mention they're easier to walk in!

Dress: H&M
Shoes: Savers, thrifted

I got this dress on the same day that I got the red shoes too! I wore this outfit on the 4th of July. I decided not to go with the whole red, white and blue thing, but to choose one of the colors to wear. Of course I went with the red shoes because I can't get enough of them!

I love candy cigarettes so much. It seems they have always been a part of my summers. I usually buy them from the ice cream man. And yes, I used to pretend I was smoking with them when I was little.
I am pretty sure they are just sticks of sugar, but I love sugar. You should see how much sugar I pour into my tea. Everyone who watches me sweeten my tea becomes disgusted with the amount I put in. I can't help it though! It just needs to be extra sweet. Hence why I love sweet tea...especially from McDonald's. It's insanely addicting and it's only $1 for 32 ounces of it! Needless to say, I've been buying more sweet tea from there than I probably should be...

I'm having a busy weekend! I went to Boston to visit Chris today and I'm going to two concerts. First up, an all day ska show! :D
