I have also been stressing over a lot of big decisions I have to make, which has stifled my creativity and motivation a bit. I'm graduating this coming spring, and I have to decide on grad school, living situations and how to find a good job in my field. College went by so fast and I know that this year is going to fly by too, so I'm agonizing over all of these choices and decisions! I've sorted a bit of it out though, so I have been able to relax a tiny bit.
I've realized that I should really start saving my money, so I might try to limit any shopping I do to just thrift stores. I'm going to try and avoid the mall, as hard as it may be. This probably will not last... There is so much I want and need to save for though. School, living expenses, rent if I get an apartment...plus I want to travel next summer before I become a grown up and join the "real world". So many plans that need to be fleshed out, finalized and funded!
I chose this shirt at the last minute yesterday and I'm glad I did. I really like how it looked with these shorts and am happy with how this outfit turned out. I find that I rarely wear yellow. I don't have that much yellow clothing which is a shame because it's a great color. This shirt is a little baggy, so I'm glad I found a good use for it! It works well cinched at the waist. I love the cute little pocket on the front!
I got these shorts in Forever 21 while shopping with my mom last weekend. I love the floral print! I am always drawn to floral prints. I can't resist them! They're comfy too, but they're a little too short when worn at the waist. This is not remedied by the fact that they're so flouncy and loose like a skirt rather than fitted like an actual pair of shorts. They kept getting blown up by the breeze while I walked Chris's dog by the beach yesterday! They're not so bad otherwise, though. I got used to them. They're definitely great for summer.

I'm not sure if I've ever talked about my aversion to peep toe shoes here, but it does exist. I never buy peep toe shoes because I hate my toes and don't want people peeping them. But...I saw this pair in Kohl's and for some reason I knew I had to have them. I love the cut-out design, the color, the fact that they don't have a back so I won't get blisters, the wedge heel, the mary jane-esque strap AND...they're actually made for comfort. They had so many redeeming qualities that I just had to let the whole peep toe thing go for them. Besides, the peep toe is so small that you can barely see my toes. It's mostly just the tip of my big one. I can't stop wearing them! They go with pretty much everything! Maybe I will start to consider more peep toe shoes form now on. :)
very cute and summery outfit! love it.
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow with the navy shorts!! Haha, I have flounce shorts like those from f21 and my boyfriend is always like, "Maggie!! I can see your underwear!!!" Hahaha. So, I've started to wear spandex with them so I don't have to feel as exposed :) But again, I love the color combo!
ReplyDeleteGood luck in choosing what to do next year- you're still young, enjoy it!! :)
Love,
Maggie
Oh! And I love your shoes...so much. I want them!!!
ReplyDeleteI too love your shoes. I used to have loads of mudd jeans. I forgot they made shirts too!
ReplyDeleteSometimes blogging becomes more of a chore than fun! That's when I step back. Recently I've only been updating once a week.. if that, even, because that's what works for me creatively. Perhaps you are the same? Gah, grad school.. fun fun! I'm looking at schools now as well, best of luck to you! PS.. SUPER jealous of those shorts.. so adorable!
