The Sweetest Place on Earth

The last day of our trip to Pennsylvania was spent in Hershey! We said goodbye to all the other girls in Pittsburgh and drove the 3 1/2 hours to Hershey to go to Hershey's Chocolate World. I was excited because I read about how you can create your own candy bar and do a tasting tour. Unfortunately, when we got there the place was packed and all of the wait times were hours long, so we couldn't do anything unless we wanted to get home at about 1 in the morning.

Since we couldn't do any of the activities, we just walked around and looked at all the candy and merchandise and enjoyed delicious, delicious treats. I got this amazing peanut butter cup cookie that was gigantic and probably had five days worth of calories in it. And on top of that, I got a chocolate peanut butter milkshake that was like drinking frozen Reese's cups. It was the best. They brought out freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and I really wanted one since they were fresh out of the oven, but I had my mind set on that amazing peanut butter cup cookie.

It was completely overwhelming to walk through this place. I mean...they have literally every kind of candy made by Hershey for sale in all kinds of quantities and forms. They had every flavor and kind of Hershey Kisses, every kind of Reese's candy, all different sizes of Hershey bars and Kisses. It was insane. Not to mention all of the trinkets and clothing and merchandise they had. It took a while for Nadia and I to decide what we wanted to get. I ended up spending about $20-$30 on chocolate. Yup. Happened.

After we overdosed on chocolate and sugar, we headed to the little downtown area where the street lamps are all shaped like Hershey Kisses. It's so adorable! Nadia freaked out when she first saw them...hahaha. My mom had told me about them since she went to Hershey when she was a kid. The streets are also cutely named and part of Chocolate Ave. is paved brown, which I thought was really cool.

My outfit is what I also wore to the blogger brunch at Meat & Potatoes. I like pairing primary colors and when I pair red with yellow, I always think of Minnie Mouse...who I am being for Halloween in case I haven't said that already.

We went into the Hershey Story museum, but didn't actually look at anything. We just went to the bathroom and went to the gift shop where they had chocolate-scented pens for sale! I didn't get one, though. I did get a big Hershey bar at the Chocolate World though because I just had to get a classic Hershey bar from Hershey! :)

  4. So the photos of you on the street- that's basically where my husband was working. He now works over by chocolate world.

It gets crazy in the summe r- I had forgotten! I moved to PA in the fall, when it's less crowded. I loved this outfit so much - I didn't see you get photos in Pittsburgh and was wondering if it was going to be put up!
