Apple of My Eye

So far, I've been apple picking three times. Once I picked a few, the second time I just picked a couple, and the third time I just went to take pictures and snack on an apple or two. These pictures were from that second time. I chose this orchard to go to because they still had blueberries available to pick. Unfortunately, they're only available to pick on the weekends and it was a Wednesday. Womp womp. I wasn't really feeling this orchard, anyway. The apples were scarce and didn't seem to be really ripe, but it is still early in the season.

I love the nice crunch you get when you bite into an apple that's right off the tree. It's so fresh and crisp and awesome. I wish I could rent an orchard for the season and live on it and eat fresh fruit all day. That would be the life. My friend is actually interested in opening his own orchard/farm. I would totally be down to help him out around the place if he ever did start one. I love being around those kind of places. They evoke thoughts of a simpler time and you're surrounded by natural, organic growth and it's such a refreshing feeling! I can't wait to have my own house someday because I want to have my own land to be able to grow fruit and veggies on.

You may remember this dress from the Blog Days of Summer meet-up in Pittsburgh! I bought it specifically for that event. Any excuse to buy a cute new dress, right? It was a somewhat practical purchase though, because this dress is super remixable (plus it was on sale!). It can be paired with a lot of other items in my wardrobe, so it works out great and means that I will definitely get my money's worth. On top of that, I had been wanting an apple print dress for a long time, but whenever I found one it was always a weird color or you couldn't really tell that the print was apples. I love this dress because the print is classic little red apples with green leaves on a white background. So simple, but yet the dress still has a little bit of character with the peter pan collar and the brown belt it came with. An all-around great purchase, in my opinion.

I will definitely be visiting more orchards this season. Hopefully there will be some along the way when I go on some fall foliage drives so I can double up on the autumny awesomeness. I need to have at least one cider donut before the season is over! I'd also like to possibly do a corn maze or a hay maze. I just want to do ALLLLL the fall activities! I feel like there's so many festive things to do in the season and never enough time to really do it all. There are so many outfit choices too since layering is an option. Gah...I never want this season to end. :D

  4. As a teacher, I am always like "APPLE PRINT!" and it's my excuse for buying anything slightly related to an apple. Unfortunately, we don't really have orchards here in Texas. Sad face.
