Surprisingly, it doesn't take that long to get to Vermont, as long as you're going to the southern part of the state. I thought it would take like 4 or more hours, but it only took a couple! We traveled down many pretty backroads and up a mountain. We were trying to find the entrance to Green Mountain Forest, but ended up at some ski slopes that were closed. We decided to just wing it and find somewhere woodsy to explore. So I'm pretty sure we were still in the Green Mountain Forest, considering how huge it is, but I'm not 100% certain.
I highly recommend going to Vermont in the fall if you ever can, because it was absolutely gorgeous. The leaves were all kinds of colors and the roads were full of little farms and farm stands that sell maple syrup. It's exactly what people picture an autumn New England getaway to be. Country-like, quaint, quiet, lots of open land, and full of colorful beauty.

Sometimes I wish I could live places seasonally. I could spend autumn around New England, winter in Florida, and then spend spring and summer somewhere in the middle. I went through a phase where I really wanted to live in Florida and while I really love it there, I could never give up autumn. That's why I'd like to move south, but not too south where there aren't really any change in seasons.
We were going to stop to get some maple treats, but by the time we were done exploring, all the places were pretty much closed so we just headed back home. The drive home is always more dreadful and longer than the ride to somewhere. It's like by the time you get there and do what you're going to do, you don't really want to drive all the way back home because you're tired. Plus I was fighting a cold at the time, so I got about 4 hours of sleep the night before and felt exhausted, but I made it through alright. I think next year we might try to stay for a weekend or something, which would be nice.
I planned from the beginning to go to Moe's for dinner when we got back. One just recently opened near me, so I wanted to go. Plus, burritos are just awesome. I like it better than Chipotle because there are more topping options...including queso. After inhaling our burritos, we called it a day and then I slept forever and it felt awesome.
You look so adorable! That dress is so cute and the sweater and scarf are the perfect touch! Also, Vermont is just so darn pretty - what great shots you got. :)

ReplyDeleteYour outfit is amazeballs! Oh, and this might be a weird question, but have you ever lived in Canada? (Windsor, Ontario to be exact.) My friend's room mate dated a girl who looks EXACTLY like you. I'm almost certain her name was Sara as well.
