Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

Tree Farm, take two! This is the second one I went to, and it was a lot better than the first. There was a big hill of Christmas trees among other acres of them, and they were all so perfect looking! Plus, they had holly trees planted there. So pretty!

Even though snow isn't one of my favorite things, I still wish I had gone to these tree farms after it had snowed. I bet it all looks so pretty with all the Christmas trees covered with it. There's something so pretty about the green branches covered in pretty, glistening white. Winter has such beauty to see if you're brave enough to withstand the cold!

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree is my favorite Christmas song. I like it because it's got that old time rock and roll feel to it (it's from 1958!) and it's just so dancey and fun. Some of my other favorites are The Christmas Song, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Happy Holiday, Jingle Bell Rock, and Mele Kalikimaka. I pretty much love all Christmas songs except for a few. For instance, I hate that Christmas Shoes song. It's depressing and awkward and I don't know why anyone would want to sing about a little kid's dying mother at Christmas time. I suppose it's meant to show the true meaning of Christmas, but must it be done in such a sad way? I always have to change the station if that song comes on. I'm not havin' it!

Below you get a peek at my winter coat that you rarely get to see, but that I can't wait to dive back into once I'm done taking pictures. I made it a point to get a down coat because in the winter, I am forever cold. Even when it's not winter, I'm usually cold. I also have a down comforter for cold winter nights. If you live where it gets really cold, and you don't own anything down, then you should definitely invest in it because it will keep you so warm. The only thing I wish about my coat is that it was just a little longer.

Speaking of keeping warm, it's so hard to do so when dressing up in dresses and tights. I have some fleece-lined pairs of tights on my Christmas list from Urban Outfitters. I already have a few pairs of fleece-lined tights that I spotted at Walmart. They're pretty nice, and a lot thicker than normal tights!

Despite all these tree farm trips, I've only gotten my Christmas tree this morning! My dad and I went even though it already started snowing. We didn't want to wait until it got worse. It's so hard to decide who to believe when it comes to the snow accumulation predictions. Some people say 1-3 inches, others say 4-8 inches. Right now, we only have about an inch or two. We always just have to wait and see how bad it will really be. I'm hoping it's not too bad by the end! It's always lame when it snows on the weekend and you can't get anywhere!

  1. I'm so with you on not being able to stand being cold. I do not like the weather at this time of year, and I don't particularly like snow either. (Though, I admit, that if I can view it from a warm place, I think it's quite pretty!) I think your outfit is gorgeous!! It's been in the teens or 20s here recently and I've pretty much sworn off of dresses till it gets warmer!

  2. Ahahaha I completely agree about the Christmas Shoes song. It's just so dumb and awkward. It's like someone wanted to make a song to make people feel sad but it just comes off as strange and stupid. Also why would someone in bed need shoes? Dumb. I pretty much love all other Christmas songs though. Well, except The Little Drummer Boy because what idiot plays a drum at a baby?

Anyway, hooray for more tree farm pictures! I really love your polka dot tights and your cute scarf belted like that.
