Here's what there was: a line before the ice palace where you can see how you compare height-wise with Sven and Olaf. There was also a thing that you touch that feels like ice and it's supposed to make your handprint, but I didn't really see it doing much. Big whoop.

So we're waiting in line and we get to the opening of the ice palace. There was one group of people ahead of us that still weren't in it yet, but we could see inside. Basically, it was a dome with a bunch of TVs that looped different clips of the songs in the movie. In the middle was a thin stream of falling "snow". That was it. Keep in mind, this is New England. We don't need to see fake snow. We get the real deal all the time.

Obviously this palace was geared towards kids. It's what you wait through to get your picture taken with Santa, but still. If I were a parent, I'd be disappointed that my kids probably got all excited for something that barely had anything for them to do. To top it off, they had a gift shop area on the other side when you leave. ...Really? This isn't Disney World. The Disney Store shows sing-a-long clips of Disney movies all the time. You gotta do more than that if you're putting together a whole specific Frozen-themed thing in the middle of your mall. But I guess they at least tried.

I apologize for being so negative! Onto a lighter note...I really REALLY love this dress. I saw it in Kohl's and I knew I had to have it. It was also perfect for a Frozen/winter themed thing because of the pretty light blue color. It has an icy feel to it, and I love the fabric of it. The only problematic part of it is the way the straps are. It makes wearing a normal bra with it impossible. Luckily I got a strapless bra that actually fits me for Christmas, so I'll have something better than a normal bra with the straps pulled down to wear with it.

I have had this headband so long and have never actually worn it. I probably got it at somewhere like Claire's in the mall about 8 years ago and it's been sitting in my drawer ever since. I figured this was a perfect opportunity to finally break it out, though! I'm not too much of a headband girl. They actually start to give me a headache after a while.

It's a shame that there was such a lead up to something that wasn't so spectacular. But at least you got to take some gorgeous photos. Lovely dress and I just love your eye makeup!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful dress, on the first look I thought it was authentic vintage! I love that snowflake headband too. Its a shame it was a disappointment, its always frustrating when you wait in line for something that is ordinary. Headbands always give me headaches too, I have no idea why :( they always look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat DRESS! I'm a huge fan of Kohl's, especially LC's line, and I can't believe I missed this! I love the headband, too. Too bad that the event was kind of lame, but you looked lovely!
