Quick Pics

April has been a crazy month. It brought with it the end of my semester, and the end of a terrible class that took all of my might to get through. The good news is that I am finally done, and I will "officially" be graduated on May 10th, though I won't get my diploma in the mail until June. It also brought the start of my first full-time job in a library right after having to work a Saturday at my last job and then Easter Sunday. Both of the jobs I left were very good to me. At one I was surprised with cupcakes and a card. The other I was given a tiara, wand, and sash and made Library Princess, plus a dessert party. They also got me a necklace of a girl swinging to match my blog and my friend Jess made a card that everyone signed! All of my previous co-workers at both jobs are truly amazing and so sweet. :)

Easter was good and pretty low-key. We went to brunch and and then took naps. I had dyed eggs with my mom. We were supposed to do it with my niece, but she ended up not being able to come.  I wore a beautiful dress from Unique Vintage that Chris had gotten me for our anniversary. I will have a post about it soon!

I finished Insanity Max 30 this month! I think this is by far my favorite of the Insanity/BeachBody workouts. Insanity really worked, but I hated having to dedicate 40-70 minutes to a workout almost every day. T25 was nice because it was so short, but it was still too much to get through with no breaks. Insanity Max 30 is great because it's 30 minutes (with breaks!) 5 days a week, and it really works! Plus, I really just love Shaun T. I think he's great and he's not too intense or lame or in your face. He's encouraging without being annoying and obnoxious. I highly recommend it! I love being able to workout at home and not have to go to a gym. I also love these kinds of workouts because I need structure and I need to be told what to do to get the results I want. If I go to the gym, I can run on the treadmill or do the machines, but I'm not a pro and I don't know exactly what I should be doing (what weight, how many reps, what speeds/inclines etc.) for my body and goals. It's nice to have a schedule and to know you're definitely going to workout everything at different times.

I dyed my hair red, but it's pretty hard to tell unless I'm in the sun or in certain lights. I don't ever really want to dye my hair permanently or do anything where I have to bleach it and whatnot. I always want to be able to have my natural hair color without having to worry about growing it out and whatnot. I always do demi permanent dye when I color my hair. It washes out in about 3-4 months, so I get a change for a bit but still get to have my natural hair color back.

Chris got a new kitten! His name is Doogie Meowzer and he has extra toes...lol. He is very cute and very playful and energetic. He is always attacking toes and bags and toys and the other cats. He's got a lot of personality already!

I had a stomach bug last week, so I couldn't eat too much. By the time it was gone, I was ready to eat everything. I got a big ol' vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles. Some may say this is boring and plain, but I think it's a classic. :)

There have been a lot of festivals lately, now that the weather is nicer. We got to experience some grilled cheese food trucks and even a cannoli one too! I love springtime festivals. We got to be among the cherry blossoms and there's daffodils and tulips everywhere again. FINALLY.

Although it's definitely warmer, it still doesn't feel like it's consistently warm. It still gets pretty cold some nights and sometimes it's only in the 50s during the day. I am ready for 65+ every day! Bring it, May!

Update!

I am still alive, though it didn't feel like it the last few days. I just wanted to post an update since it's been a couple of weeks since my last post. I haven't had time or energy to work much on blog stuff. It's finals time, and that means stress to the max. I had this crazy long paper due and of course, I waited until the last minute to do the majority of it. That's just how I roll. When I don't want to do something, I work best under pressure when I know I have to get it done. So last Friday night, I slept less than 2 hours.

This week I caught a stomach bug that lasted from Monday to last night. I still went to work since I'm new and can't afford to miss days, especially when I don't have sick time yet. I've been so tired and lethargic that I've barely even wanted to open up my laptop. I'm the type of person who checks their computer first thing in the morning, first thing after work, and then before bed. I have definitely not been doing that and have been focusing on getting rest. I'm still adjusting to having to get up at 6 in the morning some days for my new job, which is a struggle for someone who doesn't get to sleep until 1 or 2 in the morning. I have been taking naps and going to bed earlier than usual from being so exhausted. My body really needed it. After a nap last night and then a good 8-9 hours of sleep last night, I woke up this morning finally not feeling nauseous and able to eat things.

As much as I want this blog to be a priority, sometimes life happens and it gets to be lower on the list. I wish I could do nothing but blog, but that's not realistic for me.  The light at the end of the tunnel is that after this week, I won't have to worry about school or homework anymore. I can't tell you how amazing it's going to feel when I can get home from work and not have to feel this pressing weight of knowing there's so much I have to do that I really don't want to do. It's going to feel amazing when I know that all of my free time is MY free time, that nothing will have to go to anything I don't want it to. Yay freedom! I can finally devote more time to my blog and hopefully to other things that I haven't been able to like playing music and reading. The end is near, and it cannot come any sooner!

I have a lot of photos backlogged that I need to edit and write posts for (including ones from Florida still...oops), so expect some new posts very VERY soon. My last assignment is due Saturday! Just a couple more dayyyys. :D

Hogsmeade & Hogwarts

Here's a short post with some snapshots of the Hogsmeade part of Universal Studios. This is the first part of the Wizarding World that was built, so I've been here a few times. I love the snowy roofs (mostly because it's fake snow) and I love going to Honeydukes. It was a small goal of mine to actually get one of the baked goods that Honeydukes sells. I've always looked at them, but never actually ever got one. I tried the pumpkin tart, and it was AMAZING. Like a little pumpkin pie! I highly recommend it. :)

Sprung

I'm taking a little break in the Florida post action to share this super springy outfit post!

Enough was enough. It snowed the day before we took these pictures, and I was so angry that it snowed at the end of March that I decided I'd wear all of the colors in defiance and to celebrate spring. It kind of looks like spring threw up on me, but I'm 100% ok with it.

I had just gotten a bunch of new makeup stuff from Ulta and I couldn't wait to use it so that is also partly to blame for all the colors. I got a few pretty new pink eye shadows, as well as some interesting liners. I'm also obsessed with this purple shade of lipstick from Colourpop. It's their Lippie Stix in Leather!

We went to one of my favorite places for this shoot. I'm sure you can tell why it's one of my favorite places. They have so many used books that I never know what to do with myself. It can take me half a day just to get through this place, and they have multiple locations. It's the best used book store I've ever been to. I've done many a shoot here, before. I love to browse all the books, pet all the cats, drink the free tea, and eat the free cookies, donuts, and Cheez-Its. BEST. PLACE. EVER.

As an extra anniversary gift, Chris told me he'd buy me a book of my choosing. Of course, I didn't find just one to get, so I got a couple myself as well. One of the ones I got was A Wrinkle In Time. I have never read it. I'm a little ways in, and I gotta say...it's pretty weird, but not necessarily in a bad way. I think I need to read more to determine that.

The dress I'm wearing is from Lindy Bop, and it was my Christmas dress this past year! I love that it's fancy and structured enough to dress up in, but it's still casual enough to wear on a weekend outing. Perfect for remixing. :) I probably have about 4 dresses from Lindy Bop, now, and there are most definitely about 10 more that I really want. So many pretty things!

I actually have some pretty big news, career-wise. I recently accepted my first full-time job in a library and I start on Monday! I am super excited, but also a little nervous. It's going to be a pretty big change. I am leaving a job and a boss that I've been with for over 6 years, and I am leaving a library that I loved to work at, and love everyone who I worked with. At both jobs, I am not just leaving co-workers, but friends. I'm sad to go, but at the end of the day, you have to do what you have to do. When a really great opportunity comes, you have to take it, even if it's a little scary. I'm excited for he next step in my career and journey! :) I'm also excited because the schedule is great. I'm off weekends, and I get an afternoon off during the week, which is always nice for getting errands or appointments or homework done.

It's been consistently a little warmer, now since these pictures were taken. It's been getting into the 50s, which is definitely better than 30s. I'll be more fully satisfied when its consistently in the 60s, though. ;) Spring is my second favorite season, so I can't wait for it to be in full swing!
