Pineapples Scream Summer

To me, pineapples just scream summer. Fresh pineapple cut into chunks, drinks with pineapple juice, cups made out of hollowed out pineapples, and of course, pineapple prints! I love a good fruit print, and I love how neat pineapples look. It's also a fruit that I love to eat...and the one that Spongebob lives in. It still blows my mind that Spongebob has been on for over half my life, now. Since I was in 6th grade. Crazy.

When I saw this pineapple print dress on ModCloth, I instantly loved it. Not just the fact that it had pineapples on it, but also the color. Very summery, very bright and fun. It fits great (only a little tight in the bust, but I'm used to that), and it's comfortable too! I am also in love with these sunglasses from ASOS. They have such an amazing selection of sunglasses, and they are decently priced!

I just recently got back into reading a lot. I always loved to read, but being in grad school and working had left me unable to find time to read for pleasure. Once I graduated, I slowly got more heavily into reading again. Now I have been going book after book for the past month or so. I got back into using Goodreads, too. I have a list of books to read and it is constantly getting longer. It's hard not to keep adding to it when I work at a library and am surrounded by books and people talking about them all the time.

These photos were taken at my favorite book store. Every time I go there, I always consult my big long list of books that I'd like to get, but you never know what you'll find since it's a used book store. I ended up only finding one book that was on my list. Goodreads definitely made it easier for me too, to keep track of things since you can separate books into different lists.

I am just finished reading All The Light We Cannot See. It was really good. It is a New York Times Bestseller, and there's a pretty long wait list for it through the libraries, but I finally got a copy of it. It is long, but the chapters are short and it ends up being a pretty fast read. It took me about a week and a half to finish. The story is great, and so is the writing. It is a spectacular mixture of history, myth, science, and suspense. I love that there are so many stories intertwining. I definitely see what all the hype is about.

I recently finished the Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver. I had read Delirium for my young adult lit class when I was doing my grad program and I just recently got around to reading the other two books, plus the book of short stories about a few of the characters. It was very good. Delirium was pretty great, but then the others just kept getting better. I actually e-mailed Lauren Oliver and told her how much I enjoyed it and she eventually e-mailed back saying she loves to hear from fans, especially teachers and librarians, who get her books into the hands of the kids. It could've totally been someone other than her answering her e-mails for her, but I like to think that she answers them herself...lol. I am hoping to read 40 books by the end of the year. I have 9 down, and 31 to go!
