Setting Sun

I know I mention the weather a lot, but this winter has been the craziest. It was in the negative temps one week and then almost 60 degrees the next. Insane. I am excited to leave it all behind for week while I go to FLORIDAAAA. :D I have been counting down the days, and the time is finally here. Of course I will be going to Universal Studios so that I can visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter again. I am also excited because they revamped the Jurassic Park ride, probably to include Jurassic World stuff. I am excited to see the changes. I am just excited to be in warm sunny weather and wearing dresses and shorts with no tights and coats!

We took these photos a few weeks ago as the sun was starting to set. I love watching the sun set. It's the prettiest time of the day. Dawn is cool too, but nothing beats the sunset.

The shirt I'm wearing was thrifted. I got it a while ago and I love it because it reminds me of the 70s and summer. I was happy to work it into an outfit in the wintertime. I also love my hat. I wish I could pack my hat to wear in Florida, but I'm always afraid it's going to end up squished in my suitcase. My suitcase usually ends up pretty full as it is.

I am still in love with these sunglasses that I got in Coney Island last summer. I love the shape of them so much. I love sunglasses in general. They've always been a favorite accessory of mine. I actually just bought two pairs at Hot Topic this past weekend. They have the same kind of shape, but they have metal accents and one pair is Wonder Woman themed (red, gold, and blue) and the other is Little Mermaid themed (purple, green, and silver). I couldn't resist. The Little Mermaid ones will be perfect for springtime with the pretty lilac shade that they are. I don't really care about Wonder Woman, but I liked the color scheme and they are not obviously Wonder Woman themed. They just have her little symbol on the sides.

As predicted, February went by quickly. The first day of spring is only three weeks away! I have a lot of travel plans coming up. I am pretty much going somewhere different every month from now until July. I might go somewhere towards the end of the year too. I had decided that this year would be a year of travel, and I'm excited that I'm making it happen. There is nothing like traveling and seeing new places. It's one of the things that makes me the most happy in life.

February Wishlist

Spring is just around the corner. For once, the winter seems to be going by pretty fast. February is half over already and that means that March is that much closer and with that comes the first day of spring! See my optimism logic there? I'm well aware that the weather in March is still capable of being cold and snowy, but at least it also means we are closer to being in the clear of it all. Plus Easter is coming super early this year (March 27...wtf?) and I refuse to have an Easter that is not full of springtime goodness. Therefore, here is my February wishlist, filled with lots of greens and some pink as well. Oh, and some Harry Potter may or may not have snuck its way into there too. I can't resist...

The first three dresses are from Lindy Bop! They are one of my favorite shops. They never disappoint with the quality, colors, patterns, and styles. These are all coincidentally their Audrey style dress, which I have two of already - one is a red gingham and the other is a chocolate polka dot. I love the light green and turquoise polka dots. The turquoise one screams retro to me. I also love the black and white striped one. The possibilities of remixing would be endless with that one because you can pair so many different colors with it!

I found the Deathly Hallows and Dark Mark tights on Hot Topic's website and freaked out. They're so awesome! I suppose I would have to go with the Deathly Hallows symbol if I had to choose one pair since it's so classic HP, but the Dark Mark is cool too. I also really love the Mischief Managed crop top that I found on Etsy. So awesome!

The shoes from ASOS are so pretty! I love the combination of the different metallic colors. I know they would be cute for Valentine's Day and that just happened, but I would wear these any time.

The last three dresses are from ModCloth. They keep posting new dresses with so many fun prints! I love apples and apple print things, so I was excited to see the green apple print dress by Emily and Fin on their website. I also LOVE the mint green dress with the cool dolphin and striped waves print. Dolphins were one of my favorite animals since I was a little girl so there's always a special place in my heart for them. I've even swam with them before! Lastly, the pinky coral dress would be perfect for Easter or any springtime event, really. The color and pattern are so fun and put me in a good mood just looking at it. So many cute patterns! :D

That's Amore

Happy Valentine's Day! Chris and I went to the casino last night since he had to work this afternoon. We didn't really gamble. We actually ended up playing arcade games and then eating. We had fun! He got me a set of Harry Potter Funko POP dolls that I wanted and he also made me a handmade present. It's a giant mason jar full of different colored popsicle sticks. Whatever color I pick out depends on what we get to do that day! It was very sweet and awesome of him to make. :) I got him a carabiner that is imprinted with the coordinates of the place where we had our first date! We spent today just relaxing together and eating grilled cheese until he had to work.

I am excited to have tomorrow off for Presidents' Day. I had to work Saturday, so this means that I still get a weekend and not just one day off, then have to go back to work. This week will be a short one and then next weekend I am going to play bingo with a bunch of friends. Hopefully I win something!

I am back in this greenhouse that I love to go to in the winter to get away from the cold and lack of greenery. It's always around 65 degrees in there and full of plants and flowers. It's such a nice escape when I feel like I'm going to lose my mind due to the bare trees and bland days. I still think there should be a greenhouse park for people to go to in the winter with benches and a fountain and whatnot. That'd be awesome and I'd go all the time to be "outside" in the winter without really being outside in the cold.

I am wearing this gorgeous dress from Unique Vintage that Chris actually got me last year, I believe for our anniversary. I had worn it for Easter last year. It's such a pretty color, and I love the way the mesh overlay looks over the color of the lining. I also love the sleeves!

The necklace is handed down from my mom. She had a set of jewelry with this same kind of rose gold flower, and I have a couple of the pieces. I love how delicate and pretty they are.

I started using this app called Sleep Cycle. It monitors your sleep and is also an alarm clock. You give it a half hour window to wake you up in and it wakes you up during that half hour at a time when you are in a light sleep so that you don't wake up feeling groggy out of a deep sleep. It uses your phone's microphone to track your sleep. I guess it can tell from your movements what kind of sleep you're in. According to it, I don't get very good quality of sleep. I am not surprised. I am always tired and rarely feel refreshed after I wake up. That's something I have to work on.

Also speaking of phones, I finally stopped living in the stone age and updated the iOS on my iPhone. I was still on iOS 7 so some of my apps weren't able to update anymore, which got annoying. The issue was that I never had enough space on my phone for the update. I finally got fed up and went on a deleting spree (backing up everything beforehand, of course) and managed to get enough space on my phone to finally download and install the update to iOS 9. It feels good to be up to date and have space again.

Oh, but that's not all. I was behind on my computer updates as well. I was still using Snow Leopard. I finally updated to El Capitan. To be honest, I don't see a huge difference in performance, but my laptop is going to be 6 years old this fall, so it's not exactly new. I dread when I have to get a new one. One because it'll be expensive, and two because it will be a nightmare to make sure I transfer everything and don't lose anything. I'm one of those people who has severe anxiety about losing my files. I would probably have a Kim Kardashian ugly cry-face meltdown.
