In The Graveyard

Is it weird that I found doing a photoshoot in a cemetery to be fun? Is that just completely creepy of me to enjoy hanging around a bunch of dead people? Well, it's not really the dead people that appeals to me... I guess what I like about cemeteries is how much history there is. It's a very sad place, but it's also very interesting. I saw headstones of people that were born in the 1800s, and some that looked even older...to the point where you couldn't even read them anymore. I love that. I also love how quiet and peaceful it is.

I have to admit, though. I did feel just a little awkward. I felt like it might seem disrespectful or something to climb on things and walk over graves and doing something besides paying my respects to a lost loved one. I kind of felt weird about having fun and doing something I love in a place that is used to grief and sadness. But I do love seeing photography done in cemeteries...especially in the fall.

There's a part in this cemetery where the ground dips down, which we call the Indian Bowl. All the kids (and kids at heart like me) go sledding down it in the winter. Don't worry...no one's buried under it! It's just beyond these graves...

I just bought this leather (well, pleather) jacket at H&M on Sunday. I had second thoughts about it after purchasing it, but I've worn it twice already! I never wear leather. This is weirding me out. Also, you can't really tell, but I'm wearing four layers! A bodysuit, flannel, sweater, and jacket!

Also, can we talk about these jeans? Yes...lets. I am in love with them. I have been searching for a pair of high-waisted jeans for about a year or so, now. I had been eyeing the ones on Urban Outfitters' website, but I didn't really want to order them without being able to try them on. I also kinda didn't want to spend $58 on them (I'm cheap. What of it?). I noticed that they were available in my local store AND they were on sale for $39, so I went down and tried them on. And oh yes, am I glad I did. They are comfy, form-fitting, and actually sit at my natural waist. I've found that a lot of stores advertise high-waisted jeans that really just sit at the bellybutton or something and not at the waist at all. So thank you, Urban Outfitters. Did I really just write a whole paragraph about a pair of jeans? ....Yup.

Well...I've gotten more stuff done on my autumn to-do list! I baked some yummy autumn treats that I can't wait to share, I've worn flannel, and I would definitely consider a cemetery to be in the Halloween/autumn spirit for photoshoots. I still have some more festive photoshoot ideas planned, though! ;)

My Halloween costume arrived, and I adore it. I'm being a leopard, in case I haven't already mentioned that. I've got lots planned for this month that I'm so excited about, including some Halloween parties and a renaissance faire! Not to mention my birthday...which is this coming Wednesday! Woo! :)
