I feel like I've been away forever when it's only been about three days! I suppose it's been a good while longer since I've had an outfit to share. This last week has been full of high points and low points. Prepare for a bit of rambling here in this post. You have been warned.

I have Wednesdays off and while I was looking forward to having a me day last week, I ended up with a shredded tire instead that I had to drive on for a good ways. I ended up getting two new front tires, which took up a good chunk of my day, as did waiting for AAA to show up and tow me. After that whole ordeal, I ended up just relaxing with a friend to calm my nerves. No big deal. I got over it.
This past weekend started off great. I had Good Friday dinner with my friend's family and went out to coffee after with a group of friends. Saturday is when this photoshoot took place with my friend Nadia, who you guys have met here before (we went to Florida together in November!). We had tea and a light lunch at this cute little tea place near her house, then ventured to a nearby park for some picture-taking and playground-playing.
I really love the way this outfit turned out. I was channeling Ariel from The Little Mermaid and wanted to pair green and purple together, plus I added these sparkly dotted tights that I got recently. I was pretty happy with it all! I'm happy with the way these photos turned out, too. Nadia is a great photoshoot buddy!

All was going well until that night when I started feeling kind of nauseous and weird. I figured it was just indigestion or something I ate, but then I started feeling feverish and my head started to hurt and I ended up throwing up Sunday morning...on Easter. Being a bit stubborn, I went to my aunt's in the morning anyway (with bunny ears and all) for my family's Easter festivities hoping that I would feel better eventually. I ended up just feeling miserable the whole time, unable to eat any of the delicious food that everyone made. I've been in bed pretty much ever since I got home from my aunt's. I must've caught some sort of bug, and I'm so upset about it because I was looking forward to Easter so much. And on top of it, I asked someone to make me a plate of food to take home, but it was mistaken as me only wanting dessert. So I don't even have any leftovers to nom up! I may have to demand a Second Easter. That's plausible, right?

Anywho...I've been spending my time watching movies, sleeping, and editing pictures when I wasn't feeling too exhausted to do anything at all. I was so devoid of energy that even being on the computer got to be too much for me at times. I went to work this morning, but ended up leaving because I still feel kind of lousy and drained. One good thing about today though is that I received two Modcloth dresses at the same time! They both have a novelty print - one with milkshakes, and one with hot air balloons. I can't wait to do some photoshoots with them! Oh the joy a couple of pretty new dresses can bring. :)
Those pictures are adorable -- I love the green dress paired with those spotted tights! So cute! And I think it's completely plausible to demand a second Easter! Why not?
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better and I've very much been enjoying your blog!

I love this sweet little outfit - I totally see the Little Mermaid reference! I'm forever looking for dresses like the one you're wearing here, because they're so versatile, flattering and comfy! That tea place looks so darling. I'm so sorry you missed all that yummy Easter food! I think you are well within your rights to demand a re-do! Also... did you get the milkshake print dress by Sugarhill Boutique??? If so, you will LOVE it because I have it and it's gorgeous. And is the hot air balloon one by Nishe, or a different one? I have a couple (whoops...), one by Nishe and the other by Sugarhill Boutique, which is much more summery. Both are lovely. I am obviously a big fan of novelty prints. :)

Yes...it's always great to find super comfy and flattering dresses that can be styled in so many different ways! The milkshake print one is from Sugarhill Boutique and the hot air balloon one is Nishe. I love hot air balloons! Now I'm wondering what the one by Sugarhill Boutique looks like! I love novelty prints as well. :)
DeleteSuch lovely pictures - it looks like you guys had a great time taking photos together! I was reading your post, and it seemed like once you hit the part about having tea things were getting better, then you got sick :( Boo! I love Easter, so I would have hated feeling sick that day too. I hope you are feeling much better!
