I am very proud to say that I test drove that Honda Civic yesterday afternoon and I went home with it the same night! :D This is the first time I've bought a car myself, or made any real huge financial commitment, and it feels
so good. I feel so proud and...adulty. Haha. It's definitely added to the list of my proudest accomplishments in life. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have a newer, more reliable car and not have to worry about traveling long distances...which is something I love to do! I hated feeling hindered in my ability to travel and take big day trips. Now I'll be able to go lots more places worry-free! Finally!

April has been a pretty busy month, according to my
Instagram, anyway. I got new pretty dresses, saw Jurassic Park in 3D, had a cupcake picnic, a fast food feastival, became the queen of fast food, and of course, bought my new car! Plus a bunch of random stuff in between, of course.

[One of the first really nice days out. I celebrated the warmth with my Florida print dress.] |
You may remember how I had some sort of stomach bug on Easter and wasn't able to partake in tasty, delicious Easter foods. Unfortunately, my family misinterpreted my request for leftovers and thought I only wanted dessert. Luckily, a friend of mine saved some leftovers for me from his family's dinner. I got it two weeks later, but better late than never. It still tasted great.

[Mmm...lasagna and mashies!] |
This month, I also did my
favorite shoot ever so are. My friend Sarah and I went to the beach for a very balloon-themed photoshoot. She did my make-up and I wore my new hot air balloon print dress from
Modcloth. Afterwards, we celebrated our success with a cupcake picnic in the park! :) The anginette one on the left was definitely my favorite.
I've been getting into makeup more lately. Ever since I bought liquid liner, I've been trying to utilize it more. I kind of want to get into lipstick too, but it's always hard for me to commit to spending so much money on it, especially when it's a kind that you can't try before you buy.

I officially went one year without eating fast food this month! So how did I celebrate? Well how else would you celebrate such a triumph other than going out and eating all the fast food, of course. All of it. My friends and I went fast food hopping and then went to the park and feasted. I had a crispy chicken sandwich from Wendy's, a cool ranch Doritos locos taco and crunchwrap from Taco Bell, fries from McDonalds, and a burger from Burger King. I was the queen of fast food that day. My BK crown is proof, folks. So was my indigestion.
Oh, and did I mention I also had a giant chocolate peanut butter cup cookie that day? Yeah...that happened before all the fast food. It was worth it. It was one of the best cookies I've ever had. I also paid for a Jurassic Park toy from Burger King. As grown up as I can be, I still can't turn down anything dinosaur-related, toy or not.
That same day, I also purchased the Django DVD because that movie is awesome and I love Tarantino. And while purchasing said DVD, I actually got carded. That's right. I got carded for buying a DVD...at Walmart. I know what you're thinking, and no, you haven't read that wrong. The woman who works there told me that I had to be 17 to buy the DVD and that she needed to see ID. I was literally dumbfounded and speechless. I was so taken aback that I couldn't say anything for a few seconds. And then finally I asked if she was serious because I am 23 and surely she is just kidding around. She wasn't.

And finally, I'd like to share with you all...my new car!! I have been trying to think of what to name him. I have a few names in mind, but I haven't made a final decision yet. It was definitely bittersweet getting rid of my car that I've had for seven years. That car has seen me through high school, college, and after, but it was definitely time to let it go and say goodbye. I feel like this year is going to hold a lot of transitions and growth for me, and this was definitely one of them. It's for the best and I'm so happy to have a new car that I can truly call my own to love and be proud of.

Congrats on the car! I love when people name their cars. :) And I also love that we both have those two dresses hanging in our closets (and is that Minnie sweatshirt from F21? If so, I was eyeing it recently!). That cookie looks incredible. And wait........ do you live in/near Nyack?! My boyfriend is from Eastchester.... so if it's the same Nyack, I'm in your area quite a bit... :)

Thanks! Yep...the Minnie sweatshirt is from F21! And I'm not really from the Nyack area. I'm about an hour and a half away. We just took a day trip there since the IMAX screen is bigger!
DeleteYour new car is great! I'm actually a little jealous! Haha! I want a new-to-me truck. ;D

Ah that milkshake dress and balloon dress are on my wishlist for my birthday! So so so lovely!!! where is the balloon shoot photos my lovely? Would love to see them! xxx
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new ride! It's definitely scary to make such a big financial commitment. I did the same thing 3 years ago with my first car and, honestly, I don't regret it. I may have some crazy payments to make every month, but it's worth it to not have to worry about it junking out on you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats in the new car! Also, those dresses, Django, and Tarantino are all some of my favorite things, ever.
